First Round & Final Round - StoneRidge GC (Stillwater, MN) Par 72

Dave Nagle wins the 36th annual Riggs Open as he shot 87-88 (gross) for the two days, which put him at +5 (net) and gave him his first RO title!  He was followed by Doug Borsch and TW Schlag at +7 (net).  Craig Steen and Mike Winge tied for fourth at +8 (net). 

The first round featured decent weather, for sure.  Maybe a little chilly at the driving range – early on, but the temp warmed to 75 degrees by mid-day.  Gary Nagle was the leader after day one after he carded four birdies en route to a gross score of 78 (+6 gross, -1 net).  Dave Nagle and Chad Conzet were tied for 2nd (3 shots behind) at +2 net, followed by Matt Conzet, Mike Winge and Scott Riggs at +3 net.      

After Round 1, we had a good time celebrating Scott and Brent’s upcoming 50th birthday.  Thank you to all who attended! 

The final round was a little warmer, weather-wise, which was nice.  It got up to 85 degrees, so pretty good golf weather!  TW Schlag (gross score of 79, -2 net) and Doug Borsch (gross 83, -2 net) made a couple of good runs at it to post +7 Total Net in the clubhouse.  Schlag birdied holes 13 and 14, then Borsch birdied 17 and 18!  So, it all came down to Dave Nagle on 18, who needed at-worst a bogey to win.  He calmly parred the hole with a 4, which gave him a Total Net of +5 and a two-shot victory!
