First Round & Final Round: Wild Marsh Golf Club (Buffalo, MN) Par 72

Bob Cheesman held off Doug Borsch for a 2-stroke victory in the 26th Riggs Open Championship at Wild Marsh GC in Buffalo, MN. Steve Jensen took 3rd place. Kevin Kramm was the winner of the "Chrissy Miller" Humanitarian award.

The first round featured '08 RO Champ, Chad Thomas, storming to the lead with an 85. It looked like he may win back-to-back! Bob Cheesman followed his 49 on the front nine with a nice 44 on the back nine, which put him in a tie for 2nd with Doug Borsch, John Bevans, and Jim Taylor.

The final round was played under beautiful, blue skies, and featured an exciting finish. The rumors were going around the course that the tourney was going to come down to Steve Jensen, Doug Borsch, and Bob Cheesman as they were all playing well. As the crowd gathered on 18, everyone knew that Cheese had a 3-shot lead going to the final hole. Doug Borsch kept it interesting with a birdie on the final hole, but Cheese made a nice par, which gave him the 2-stroke win. It was Bob's first Riggs Open title!
