The Riggs Open began in 1983 as a birthday party/golf tournament for Scott & Brent Riggs.  The tradition-rich event has changed a little bit since then.  It is now a two-day event featuring 36 holes of championship golf.  The tournament is now played at some of the top public golf courses: Bunker Hills (1993 & 2002), Stonebrooke (1994, 1997 & 2001), The Links at Northfork (1995, 1996, 1999, 2006, & 2010), Rush Creek (2004), Breezy Point Resort (2003 & 2008), and Legends (2011).
