First Round & Final Round @ Loggers Trail GC - Par 72

Mike Winge shot gross scores of 79-82 to win the 42nd Riggs Open!  Winge's 71 pts (Stableford scoring) gave him a 5-point win, which makes him the second-ever 4-time RO champ (Chad Thomas)!!  It was a great tourney!  Brent Riggs and Sean Bevans (66 pts) tied for 2nd, Bob Cheesman, Pat Fosness and Scott Riggs (65 pts) rounded out the top 5.

Round one featured a chilly, rainy welcome to the course so we waited it out a little before beginning play.  Fortunately, the skies cleared and it ended up being a pretty nice day with highs near 85.  Winge shot a 43-36 (79) on day one.  His back-nine featured two birdies (gross) on his 1-under score of 36!  Brent Riggs shot a 90 (35 pts) which put him in 2nd place, tied for third were Sean Bevans 85 (33), Doug Borsch 87 (33), Bob Cheesman 88 (33).

The final round had better, sunnier weather all day with temps in the low-80's.  Winge shot a gross score of 82 that included a birdie (gross) on the par-5 16th hole as he cruised to a 5-point win (Stableford)!  Among other contenders who kept the tourney close for a while was Keith Jansen, who fired a 47 (19 pts) on the front nine.  All-in-all it was a great day and a big win for Winge!  Great to see lots of fans in attendance!
