2024 Champion
First Round @ Pebble Creek GC (Becker, MN) - Par 72
Final Round @ The Links at Northfork GC (Ramsey, MN) - Par 72
Topher Anderson won in a playoff over Chad Conzet in the 41st Riggs Open. Topher and Con were tied after 18 as they both scored 74 total points (Stableford scoring). On the first playoff hole (hole 1 at The Links), Topher two-putted from the front fringe for a par, which meant Conzet needed at least a bogey to tie (as he got a shot on that hole thanks to his handi). Conzet lined up a makeable bogey putt and hit a good putt, but it horseshoed around the hole and missed. This meant that Topher had his first Riggs Open title!
Round 1 was held at beautiful Pebble Creek GC in Becker, MN – a great weather day with temps in the high-70's! First-round leader Scott Riggs shot an 89, which was good for 38 pts (Stableford). He was followed by Chad Conzet (90,37 pts) and Josh Herman (100,35), Gary Nagle (82,35) - who had two birdies on the day, and Craig Steen (81,35).
For the final round, we moved venues to The Links at Northfork in Ramsey, MN. Temps were a little warmer in the low 80’s - a beautiful day! It all came down to the last few holes. Topher Anderson had moved into the lead when he shot a gross-score of 79, which included a birdie on the par-4 third hole! It was looking good for Topher, as the leader group behind him approached the 17th hole, until word got out that Chad Conzet had drained a long birdie putt on the par-3 17th to move into a virtual tie! Conzet had a chance to win on 18 with a two-putt. But, his second putt just missed and we were off to a playoff between Conzet and Anderson! For the tournament, Topher shot gross scores of 93-79 for 74 pts, while Conzet shot 90-89 (74 pts).
Rounding out the top 5 was Chad Thomas (90-89, 71 pts), Josh Herman (100-99, 70), Gary Nagle (82-83, 70) and Mike Winge (86-82, 70).
