Final Round: Legends Golf Club (Prior Lake, MN) Par 72

Congrats to Kurt Bursey, the 2011 Riggs Open Champion!  He shot a final round 89 and held on for a 1-shot victory over Sean Sinsabaugh at the Legends GC in Prior Lake, MN.

The First Round of the 28^th annual “Riggs Open” took place Saturday at scenic “Crystal Lake GC” in Lakeville, MN.  Bursey and Sean Sinsabaugh finished the day tied for the lead.  Bursey came out hot and shot 42-45 for an 87 (-3).  Sinsabaugh overcame a tough start and shot 41-39 for an 80 (-3). Mike Flom 95 (+3), Kevin Kramm 81 (+4), and Bob Cheesman 95 (+5) rounded out the Top 5.

The Final Round was held at the beautiful “Legends GC” in Prior Lake, MN.  The course features a very pretty layout, and a nice mix of risk/reward on the holes.  Everyone was gunning for the leaders, but they did not falter.  The outcome came down to the gorgeous, par-4 18th hole.  Bursey had a 3-shot lead coming to the hole.  So, when Sinsabaugh birdied the hole, Bursey needed a 2-putt bogey to win.  He nestled his first putt close and tapped in to win his second Riggs Open title (1990).  Bursey finished at -6, Sinsabaugh was -5.  Mike Flom (-1) & Bob Cheesman tied for 3rd, and Scott Riggs (E) was 5th.
