First Round – Rush Creek Golf Club (Maple Grove, MN) Par 72

Final Round – Monticello Country Club (Monticello, MN) Par 71

The first round at Rush Creek GC was probably the most beautiful course that the R.O. has ever been played on.  It was in immaculate condition, and provided a great test for everyone!  Karl Hirtzinger (82) & Chad Thomas (83) played very solid, and were the leaders, at one under, after day one.  Doug Borsch (82) was just a shot back, at even par. 

The final round at Monticello CC was a great day!  Riggs Open participants played Monticello CC many times growing up, but it was the first time it hosted the tourney.  Chad Thomas had a big lead going to the 16^th hole, and he triple-bogeyed 17 to make things interesting, but he calmly tapped in a 2-footer on 18, to finish at 2 under, and claim the title!  It was Chad’s first Riggs Open Championship!  Mark Patterson (-1), Doug Borsch (+1), Karl Hirtzinger (+2), & Mark Steen (+2) all gave a good effort in making it close.
